Vision Spring Initiatives (VSI) is delighted to be a partner in the HIVOS We Lead project in Nigeria.
We Lead is a revolutionary and comprehensive program that strives to increase the power and status of young women who are most commonly denied their legal and moral rights to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRH-R). It focuses on young women and adolescent girls with HIV, identify as LBTI (lesbian, bisexual, transgender, or intersex), with disability, and/or are affected by displacement.
With a partnership with Education as a Vaccine and support from Hivos, Vision Spring Initiatives is implementing the We Lead Project in the South-West Nigeria(Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti). It is a youth-led project that intends to place young women who are right-holders in control, connecting them with each other in Communities of Action. They collaborate on developing cooperative plans to enhance their SRH-R while sharing information, ideas, and experiences in these venues. We support and mentor them as they strive to bring about the envisioned improvements in law and policy. The program also equips these young women with the skills they need to lead campaigns, establish movements, and influence public and policymakers’ attitudes of rights holders SRH-R.
Vision Spring Initiatives was recently represented by the Programs Officer in the just concluded LILO Training of Facilitator Workshop that broadens the participants knowledge on the importance of an inclusive programming for young women and adolescent girls with HIV; identify as (LBTI) lesbian, bisexual, trans, or intersex; with disability; and/or are affected by displacement.
